The Wicked Wizard Tower

A wizard tower is one of the first things that comes into mind when you think about fantasy and magic.
As someone who enjoys beautiful skies and reflections in photography, mixing this with the fantasy realm inspired me to create a scene with a wizard tower on an island with some pretty skies being reflected along the waves of the ocean.
With how most design projects start of course, i started this project by creating a rough sketch and prototyping how I want my tower to look and to just picturize the scene and create a reference before I start designing this in 3D
I had found a hieroglyph texture along with a normal map, Ambient Occlusion map and roughness map which looked interesting. I decided to use these textures on the main hut on the top to add a bit of detail and make it look more mystical instead of a solid colour
For the main foundation of the tower, Creating individual bricks would be very tedious and demanding, so I ended up using a stone brick texture with a displacement map along with a normal map and OCC map to give the effect of depth and individual bricks without wasting resources
I then proceeded to model everything and and create the scene. A displacement map was used on a plain with a mirror effect to create the ocean and waves and a sand texture was used to create the island. After adding an environment texture for the sky and some emission lighting in the windows, the final render was done.
I then finished it off by taking this to photoshop and using a lightning brush and paint a layer with soft light blend mode to create a glow so that i could add some lightning bolts to add to the scene. With some basic color correction and editing, this is the final image that I have created
